His Son Can’t to Respond to Everything, But When Dad Sings A Beautiful Transformation Happens

Jayce Correia and his son Jared have a special bond, one that’s evident in the video.

But Jared isn’t just any other boy. He was born with several severe handicaps, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy and hydrocephalus, after suffering a stroke before birth. He can’t see or understand the world the way most of us do.

Watch though, as dad starts rapping about how much his son means to him and gives him reason to be proud. It’s as if the boy goes through a striking and hopeful transformation – as joyous as any kid you might know.

When Jayce penned the song, he says it was just an ordinary day. His inspiration came while he and Jared were waiting – like any parent and child does – at the bus stop for the school bus.

Dad Jayce told The Huffington Post,

“He was a little tired that morning, but as soon as the music came on, and I started singing to him, he perked right up,” the dad said, adding, “He might not be able to see, or comprehend much, but boy can he hear and feel a rhythm!”
He continued, explaining that he hoped his words would lift up other families like his with special needs children:

“I want people to know that they are not alone. That those feelings of frustration are normal. We are only human. Life is not about how hard you can hit, it’s about how hard you can be hit and keep on going!!”
Well said, Dad.
