What One Firefighter’s Helmet Cam Captured Shook Me To The Core

A dramatic video released by the Fresno Fire Department shows the anxious rescue attempt of three children in a burning apartment. The tense footage, captured by two different helmet mounted cameras, shows a team of firefighters making their way through a smoke-filled apartment in search of the children. You can hear glass shattering all around them during this perilous rescue.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the team to locate the children, a one-year-old boy, a three-year-old girl, and a four-year-old girl. The three kids are incredibly lucky to have been rescued by such a daring team.

That was pretty intense to watch. I couldn’t see anything but the thick smoke until one of the firefighters makes his way outside with a kid in his arms. These men and women are the true definition of heroes.

According to the Fresno Bee, the mother of the children was arrested following the fire. The children are currently in critical condition. Here is a video of a Fresno Police Chief, Jerry Dyer, explaining exactly what happened.

I sincerely hope the kids recover. They could have easily lost their lives in such a deadly blaze.
